 On the third Wednesday of every month from 3 PM to 5 PM, the Algoma Public Library invites our patrons to step into Virtual Reality. Our two headsets, made possible by the Friends of the Library, will be set up in our meeting room space for patrons to enjoy.
Sign-ups are required as each patron will be given a 15 minute turn. (Amount of time for each patron is subject to change depending on attendance.)  Join us on Tuesday, November 19th at 1 pm. We are reading "Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI" by David Grann. The Kewaunee Public Library Hosts Great Lakes, Great Read Author Visit with Sally Cole-Misch11/12/2024  The Kewaunee Public Library is hosting Great Lakes, Great Reads Author Visit with Sally Cole-Misch on Tuesday, November 12th at 12 pm.
Sally Cole-Misch is an award-winning author for an engaging discussion of her novel "The Best Part of Us", this year's Great Lakes, Great Read adult selection. The event will take places at the Kewaunee Public Library and is open to the public. Don't miss the opportunity to hear from the author and dive deeper into her work. The Great Lakes Great Read initiative is supported by an ideas to Action grant from WiLs, Wisconsin Sea Grant and the University of Wisconsin Water Resource Institute and the support of the Wisconsin Water Library.  Learn how to video chat with your computer or smartphone with Bug Tussel on Saturday, November 9th at 10:30 am. This class is designed for technology users who are comfortable using the internet, smartphones, and computers. You’ll learn how to sign on to a video call, how to clearly see and hear yourself and others on a video call, how to mute yourself and turn off your camera, and how to comment and chat. You’ll learn about the different types of video chat providers and which one is right for you. You’ll also learn tips on how to look and sound better while video chatting.
 Do you have stuffies in need of a little TLC or a check-up? Bring them to the library on Saturday, November 2 between 10:30 and 1:00 for a special Stuffed Animal Clinic. There will be activities and crafts designed to teach kids about doctor and hospital visits and to familiarize them with equipment used by medical professionals. If available, an ambulance will be parked outside and open for kids to peek in. Stuffies in need of minor surgery can be stitched up on the spot while you participate in other activities, or they can stay overnight if they need more care.
Get your stuffie feeling pawsome again!  Come join us for our annual Halloween Party from 5:00-6:00 pm on Monday, October 28th. We will have a photo op area, games, crafts, Haunted House put on by the Girl Scouts (Haunted House Geared toward young children) and more. Come dressed up in your favorite Halloween Costume!
 Come make a pumpkin out of books with us on Friday, October 25th from 1-3 pm! This program is geared for adults and teens. Supplies are provided. However, if you wish to bring your own book from home to turn into a pumpkin you can.
 Come to the Algoma Public Library every two weeks on Friday at 3:00 PM for our After School Movie. Movies selected will be rated PG-13 or younger.
