Join us on Tuesday, September 12 at 10am for our special 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Kickoff Storytime!
The Kickoff is open to any child that has not entered kindergarten, and also for those children who are already working towards the goal. 1000 Books Before Kindergarten is a library program that encourages parents and caregivers to read 1000 books with their young children before they enter kindergarten. Books and other rewards are given as incentives along the 1000 book journey. Find more information on our 1000 Books Before Kindergarten Page Introducing our new Oculus Quest 2 (Virtual Reality) gaming device. Would you like to come and try out Virtual Reality for free? We are so excited to add this new gaming device to our library programming. Stop by and try it out Tuesday, September 12th between 1:15-5 pm.
To give everyone a chance to play time slots on the Oculus will be limited to 20 minutes per person. We will be painting/ carving pumpkins at the library again this year on Wednesday, October 18th from 3-5 pm. Please register for a time slot 3 pm and 4 pm. While supplies last. Each time slot will have a limited number of pumpkins to help with spacing. Call to reserve your spot.
Pumpkins donated from Hillside Apples in Casco. School is back in session (boo or yay?) and that means date confusion has started again! What happens if THIS school year every day is a Monday because someone opened a link in an email on accident? Do you think you and you friends can solve the clues and bring back our 7 days a week? Clocks ticking... if you can't solve it, every day will be Monday forever! Escape room is on Monday, September 11th with rooms at 3 pm and 4 pm

Donations accepted August 1st to 22nd. Children need the proper tools to achieve success in school. Often these tools are as simple as paper, pencils or crayons. The Algoma Public Library is accepting school supply donations on behalf of the children and families in our community that are in need. Donated supplies can be dropped off at the Algoma Public Library.
Examples of Supplies Needed: Scissors, Loose leaf paper, Single subject notebooks, Elmer’s Glue, Pens, Pencils, Color pencils, Glue Sticks, Crayons, Markers, Folders, and Pink Erasers. These items will be available for our local teachers to pick up during the annual "Teacher Meet and Greet". This "Meet and Greet" gives teachers the opportunity to come in and connect with the Library, set up teacher cards and to talk to library staff about any material needs or questions they may have. Join us on Friday, August 18th from 1pm to 3pm for Einstein's Sandbox! Einstein’s Sandbox is a mobile creativity lab that delivers hands-on STEM activities to kids ages 4 and up. Bring your creativity and the rest will be provided! The mobile unit will be in the library’s parking lot at 1pm.
