Adult Summer Reading Challenge
Be entered into a drawing for some prizes (prizes can be viewed here). Stop by the circulation desk to pick up a log sheet or sign up via Beanstack and keep track of how many books you can read this summer. Every 2 books you read you get a FREE book (valued $2 or less) from the Algoma Friend’s Book Corner. Sign up by email or call us (920-487-2295) runs June 6th- Wednesday, August 31st.
Virtual Dementia Training
Experience what it’s like to live with dementia by walking in their shoes on Wednesday, August 31st at 1pm. This life-changing simulation teaches us how to provide better care. For more details and how to attend, please contact www.secondwind.org or call ADRC of the Lakeshore at (877)416-7083. Slots are 30 minutes and are on first come/first serve basis.

Back to School Grab & Go Kit
Kids, get ready to go back to school with fun ideas and items in this kit. Available Monday, August 22th while supplies last.
School Supply Drive
Donations accepted August 1st to 20th. Children need the proper tools to achieve success in school. Often these tools are as simple as paper, pencils or crayons. The Algoma Public Library is accepting school supply donations on behalf of the children and families in our community that are in need. Donated supplies can be dropped off at the Algoma Public Library.
Examples of Supplies Needed: Scissors, Loose leaf paper, Single subject notebooks, Elmer’s Glue, Pens, Pencils, Color pencils, Glue Sticks, Crayons, Markers, Folders, and Pink Erasers These items will be available for our local teachers to pick up during the annual Teacher Meet and Greet. This Meet and Greet gives teachers the opportunity to come in and connect with the Public Library, set up teacher cards and to talk to library staff on any material needs and or any questions they may have.

A kit designed for Adults, inspired by the last month of August and all are non-alcoholic drinks! Kit includes 2-3 recipes and some ingredients. Participant is responsible for purchasing the rest of the ingredients. Kit available to pick up Monday, August 8th.
