Donations accepted August 1st to 22nd. Children need the proper tools to achieve success in school. Often these tools are as simple as paper, pencils or crayons. The Algoma Public Library is accepting school supply donations on behalf of the children and families in our community that are in need. Donated supplies can be dropped off at the Algoma Public Library.
Examples of Supplies Needed: Scissors, Loose leaf paper, Single subject notebooks, Elmer’s Glue, Pens, Pencils, Color pencils, Glue Sticks, Crayons, Markers, Folders, and Pink Erasers. These items will be available for our local teachers to pick up during the annual "Teacher Meet and Greet". This "Meet and Greet" gives teachers the opportunity to come in and connect with the Library, set up teacher cards and to talk to library staff about any material needs or questions they may have. Join us on Friday, August 18th from 1pm to 3pm for Einstein's Sandbox! Einstein’s Sandbox is a mobile creativity lab that delivers hands-on STEM activities to kids ages 4 and up. Bring your creativity and the rest will be provided! The mobile unit will be in the library’s parking lot at 1pm.

Memory Cafés are geared for individuals experiencing early stage Dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment, and family and friends of those affected. It’s a great opportunity for lively discussions, information gathering, refreshments, camaraderie, and lots of creative fun! Each month we do a different activity. This month we will discuss favorite books on Wednesday, August 9th at 10am.
