Dementia is currently the 6th leading cause of death in the United States, with Alzheimer's being the most common cause of dementia among older adults. This disease is often difficult to understand and is a sensitive topic to discuss. Dementia 101 will discuss the differences between "normal aging" and more serious cognitive decline caused by diseases such as Alzheimer's.

For more information or to register, call the Aging and Disability Resource Center of the Lakeshore at 1-877-416-7083. The class will be capped at 10 attendees, with later registrants added to a wait list. Future classes will be held based on interest.
