With everything that's going on in the world, this is the perfect time to make a Calming Glitter Jar.

For the week leading up to this program (June 22nd to June 26th), Teens can sign up for the Program and pick up their supplies.

On June 29th, 2020 at 3:00 pm Teens that have the supplies (or anyone that wants learn how to make a Calming Glitter Jar) can tune in to a live stream on Instagram!

Disclaimer: As this is a teen program, we would prefer to limit the Calming Jar Supply kits to our Teen patrons, but anyone can tune in to the live stream.

The Algoma Public Library is excited to announce that our Summer Reading Program is ON!

Join us for our Kick-Off celebration for this year's Summer Reading Program by attending our online Read-aissance Festival!

The Festival will be held on Facebook Live and will include a very special storytime, craft, and fun, along with each librarian highlighting what our patrons can look forward to for digital and take-home programs for each age group.

Once our Festival is over, anyone interested in picking up a physical reading log and registration (for those not interested in Beanstack reading app) can call the library during our curbside hours to schedule a pick up.

We can't wait to see you at the Festival!

​Have you ever wanted to rewrite the ending to a story? Here is your chance!

From Monday, June 15th to Friday, June 19th, teens can sign-up and pick up a picture book from the library that they want to change the ending to. (Board books, Easy Reader Books, or Picture Books from attendees homes can be used as well.)

On June 22nd, 2020 at 3:30 pm, an invitation to a Zoom call will be sent from our Young Adult Librarian so those that signed up and provided an email account can share their new endings with the other participants.

For the week leading up to this program (from June 11th to June 18th at 3:00 pm), Teens can sign up for the Program and pick up pre-assembled supply bags at the library. On June 18th, 2020 at 4:00 pm, Teens that have the supplies (or anyone that wants to learn different things about starting a Journal) can tune in to a live stream on Instagram with our Teen Librarian!

Ever wish that you could pick up the headphones of a stranger and see what their favorite songs are? Are they the same as yours? Are they from a genre you would never think to try?

Now you have a chance!

Click the image above to head to our online form you can fill out, download the PDF form to fill out and send to us by email ( bspencer@algomapubliclibrary.org ) or dropping off in our drop box at the library. 

On the day of Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 1:00 pm, our Teen Librarian will randomly select a playlist and send them to all the teens that have signed up to receive one AND have also included their own to exchange.

ALSO: If you are interested in the opportunity to share your playlist with the community via the radio, 102.1 FM is giving teens the option to answer two easy questions at the end of the submission form and share their playlists with our community!
