Books can be checked out at the Algoma Public Library OR purchased at the Yardstick Bookstore (317 Steele St, Algoma), and be entered for a summer reading prize at the Algoma Public Library. Celebrate America's 250th with us as we learn how American Revolutionary War Patriots risked life and liberty for the cause of independence. A local member of Daughters of the American Revolution will be here on Thursday, June 18th, 2026 at 1:30 pm. "Patriots - Pioneers - Progeny" presentation will share stories about the migration to Northeast Wisconsin by some of the children and grandchildren of the patriots and their impact on our area. We also discuss how our American Revolutionary War ancestors' dedication lives on in their current-day descendants.

Speaker on How to find your Patriot of the American Revolution on Thursday, May 7th, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at the Algoma Public Library
This year we celebrate America's 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, a speaker from Daughters of the American Revolution, will be here on Thursday, May 7th, 2026 at 5 pm. Ever wonder if you have an ancestor who supported the American Revolution?  Here’s a chance to learn the easiest ways to find your patriot and confirm if he or she qualifies you for membership in the Sons or Daughters of the American Revolution.  The program also includes many helpful tips on how to advance and document your genealogy research from generation to generation.

We have 2 headsets open from 1 pm to 4:30 pm for 20 minute increments on Monday, March 30th. Sign up for a time slot today. Geared for 12 and up.

Participate in our Frosty Reading Challenge from January 2nd - February 28th, 2026 at the Algoma Public Library for a chance to win prizes. Open to ages 2 and up. For kids (ages 2-12 years) they can earn a FREE ticket voucher to Disney On Ice (February 18th-22nd in Green Bay) OR Monster Jam (March 27-29th) in Green Bay by reading 5 books. If kids read 10 books they can earn BOTH Disney On Ice AND Monster Jam ticket vouchers.  Teens and Adults (ages 13 and up) can pick up a BINGO sheet. Earn a line of Bingo for a prize OR earn a blackout to win a bigger prize.  For more details, please stop at the library for more information.
