Now is the time to try out new genres like Young Adult, Mystery, Thrillers, Nonfiction and even Fiction. No book is too long or too short to read. We are helping our tail wagging and feathered friends at Door County Humane Society by gathering pet supplies between June 20th and July 2nd. They are in need of unopened (sealed) bags of dog/ cat food, canned dog/ cat food, peanut butter, potty training pads, non-retractable leashes, dog toys, cleaning supplies (liquid hand/dish soap, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes), plus more! Local Abbey C. will be here to lead a rock painting that is ocean themed, we will be painting a cool jellyfish! Registration is recommended as supplies and space are limited. There are 2 times to choose from on Monday, June 27th at 10:30 am or 1 pm.
Summer time is a great time to go traveling right? Or so we think it is. On this trip we have to make sure our plane takes off on time and doesn't detour us to the Bermuda Triangle. Are you prepared to help your fellow travelers out on this journey? It's time to pack our bags and take off! (Don't worry, no one is actually harmed in this game). *You may be with individuals you do NOT know or they may be younger than you. If you wish to be in your own group you must have at least 5-8 people sign up with you. Escape Rooms run on the hour starting at 11 am on Thursday, June 23rd. Times to choose from are 11am and 12 pm. On Friday, June 24th escape rooms start at 2 pm and 3 pm. Registration recommended. The Coast Guard will be down at the Algoma City Marina for a safety talk on Wednesday, June 22nd at 1:30 pm by the Ahnapee River. They will be bringing down one of their boats from Washington Island. Please park by the Algoma Youth Club or at the Public parking lot (not at the marina).
Join us on Thursday, June 9th at 1 pm in the Council Chambers (you can come in by the library) as staff members from the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc for a presentation on Wisconsin's Underwater Treasures. This presentation will be featuring stories of Lake Michigan's most famous shipwrecks, how shipwrecks are explored, and the area's new National Marine Sanctuary.

Supplies will be limited, so kits will available on a "first come, first served" basis. Spring is here and we are thinking spring with this little craft. Stop by to pick up a Yarn Bird Craft kit on Wednesday, April 6th to create your own little bird to have sitting inside without the mess. While supplies last. Assembly required. Kit found at the circulation desk.
A road trip through a state park in late March is just what we need. We'll admire the scenery, watch for animals, sing some songs, and enjoy the outdoor activities this late-winter, early-spring has to offer. Pack your things, and let's GO!
