Drop off your yarn to the library between Monday, July 11th and Friday, July 22nd. Our summertime yarn exchange will be held on Monday, July 25th from 11:30am to 4:30 pm. So if you are cleaning our drawers and closets or just need to find new yarn stop on by. This is a free program.

Thursday, July 21st at 11 AMJoin Braelyn for Adult Creative Writing. We will have writing prompts and activities for those looking for inspiration. The first hour will be used for brainstorming and writing, the time left will be for sharing our pieces (for those that would like to). All materials will be provided by the Library (paper, pens, pencils). Sharing of new or old pieces is encouraged, but not required.
Due to the Summer Reading Program, our Adult Creative Writing program will be on a different schedule than previous months. Adult Creative Writing will be meeting: Wednesday, June 15th from 1 pm to 3 pm Friday, July 8th from 2 pm to 4 pm Thursday, July 21 from 11 am to 1 pm We are discussing The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemmingway on Tuesday, July 19th at 1 pm. Books can be put on hold on infosoup or by stopping in the library to place a hold with one of our friendly librarians. This book has large print, regular print and ebook editions available on Libby.
Travel with John and Gurmit Walch on Wednesday, July 13th at 4 pm as they share their journey to help preserve the oceans and reefs from the Caribbean to S.E. Asia, the S Pacific, Micronesia and the Persian Gulf. 71% of the Earth surface is covered with water an essential requirement for life on Earth which must be preserved if we are to continue living here.
Kids can make their own water cycle and study how it works. Available Tuesday, July 12th while supplies last.
Available starting Monday, July 11th at 10 AMStarting on July 11 at 10 AM, the Algoma Public Library challenges you to answer the question "Who Trashed Our Creek!?" in our newest addition to our collection of Digital Escape Rooms. In this fun and educational escape room, participants find a creek where it seems someone has dumped a bunch of trash. We need your help to figure out who did this and how we can keep our waterways clean.
This escape room will be available on our Facebook page, our website, or by email request. This escape room is geared towards families or older children and above. We are helping our tail wagging and feathered friends at Door County Humane Society by gathering pet supplies between June 20th and July 2nd. They are in need of unopened (sealed) bags of dog/ cat food, canned dog/ cat food, peanut butter, potty training pads, non-retractable leashes, dog toys, cleaning supplies (liquid hand/dish soap, hand sanitizer, disinfectant wipes), plus more!
