Join us for coffee and conversation on Wednesday, July 26th at 2 pm. This is a great opportunity for caregivers with a loved one or a friend going through dementia to talk to others. A dementia specialist will be here from the ADRC of the Lakeshore.
In honor of EAA Airventure this week, Kids and Parents come in on Monday, July 24th from 11:30 am to 1 pm and test your building skills to create airplanes that will hopefully fly! Once we have built our planes we will see who's plane flies the furthest. Building materials provided, you bring your creativity and imagination!
Friday, July 21The Annual Outdoor Movie will be...Puss in Boots The Last Wish! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks and join us for a fun family friendly evening at the Movies! Sponsored by the Algoma Public Library and the Algoma Community Development Committee and the Algoma Utilities with their Community Contribution Grant. Legion Park 620 Lake Street, Algoma Carjacks Patty Wagon will be on hand for you to purchase some delicious food beginning at 7pm. There will be free popcorn! (Popcorn will be limited) The Movie will start at approximately 8:00pm. Stop by between 10am and 4 pm on Wednesday, July 19th to paint a Kindness Rock! This is open to all ages and families.
This summer our summer reading program is "All Together Now" and with this in mind and our tradition of reading YA Novels, our second novel is All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir. We will be discussing on Tuesday, July 18th 1 pm. This title is available in regular print and on Libby as an ebook or eaudiobook.

But together we can maintain and improve the ecology of the lake today and also create a more resilient lake for the future. Explore the wonders of the Great Lakes and learn why they are so amazing on Monday, July 17th at 1 pm! This kit is geared towards kids, teens, and families. Kits will be available on a first come, first served basis. Supplies are limited. Bats are one of the best friends we humans have ever had! Unfortunately, more than half of our American bat species are in severe decline. Janet Raddatz, Wisconsin Master Naturalist, will share her knowledge of these special creatures that affect the quality of our life. This presentation is for the entire family, especially the children on Thursday, July 13th at 1 pm. This presentation will be held in the City Council Chambers (416 Fremont St - same building as the library).

Memory Cafés are geared for individuals experiencing early stage Dementia, mild memory loss or cognitive impairment, and family and friends of those affected. It’s a great opportunity for lively discussions, information gathering, refreshments, camaraderie, and lots of creative fun! Each month we do a different activity, this month we are playing Wheel of Fortune! Join us on Wednesday, July 12th at 10 am.
