September 25, 2020 Those of us at the library LOVE a good scavenger hunt. However, since it's beautiful outside, we want to mix it up.
We challenge YOU to explore Algoma! On the morning of September 25th, we will release a survey on our website with very specific questions about locations around our lovely town of Algoma. We will also have physical copies at the library for those that don't have the internet. The challenge is that you need to go to those locations to find the answers. Participants that complete the survey before midnight on the 27th will be able to pick up a participation prize on the following Monday. September 23rd @ 6 PM Teens, join Braelyn every second and fourth Wednesday at 6:00 PM for Teen Only Jackbox Night, where we play Jackbox Party Games from the convenience of our homes via Google Hangouts. Teens can join the game to play along or join the audience.

Join Braelyn via Zoom every third Monday of the month for (18+) Open Mic at 8 PM; a night where creative adults can share their works with their peers from the comfort of their own homes. Participants must sign up to be included. Sharing is not required, but kindness, respect, and support IS REQUIRED. Hecklers will not be included in future Open Mic nights.  Description:Join Katie virtually in her kitchen and learn a new recipe! Each month Katie will make some snack or meal and share her recipe. This month is a family favorite! The event will be done on Facebook Live. This month we are making Halloween snacks!

September 15th, 2020 So much of our daily lives has been pushed to digital formats; working from home, learning from home, Storytime online, live-streams, Zoom meetings, emails, and texts. We are surrounded by screens so much that, time and again, we need to get away... But, what happens when our screens won't let us?
Try our digital escape room "Download Complete" to see if you can solve the puzzles, find all the clues, and get out before you are one with the computer... FOREVER. Age Recommendations: high school and beyond, or a family of mixed ages. This escape room is contained within Google Forms. That means, you shouldn't need the assistance of Google or other search engines to find the answers. Every answer should be contained within the Form. Keep an eye out for the event and link: this escape room is currently under-construction.  Talk Like a Pirate DaySaturday is International Talk Like a Pirate Day! Starting Monday, Sept 14 stop in to pick up supplies to make your own Pirate Paper Bag Craft. You may even find some treasure in your kit! While supplies last.
September 12th @ 8 PM Adults! Trying to find something you can do for fun with other adults once a month on a Saturday night without having to leave your house?
Join Braelyn on Google Hangouts on the second Saturday of the month at 8 PM for 18+ Jackbox Night! The parental controls will be turned off and our adult patrons can join the game or the audience to take part in a virtual game night!  Kits will include one plain ceramic mug, 2 or 3 sharpies of different colors, and the instructions on how to bake the mug after decorating to make the design permanent. Kits will only be available while supplies last and are for our Teen patrons.
 Stop in to pick up one of our Maker Wednesday Kits. This kit will feature Back to school Stem Challenge activities for you and your child to do at home.
Each month we'll feature art, tinkering, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities. There will be a new activity kit available on the first Wednesday of the month! While supplies last.  Sign up for our Write-It Wednesday to receive virtual prompts right to your email to get your creative juices flowing. All you need to sign up is your name and email, and you can sign up on either our website or by calling the library to get your name and email address on the list.
