We will have writing prompts and activities for those looking for inspiration. The first hour will be used for brainstorming and writing, the time left will be for sharing our pieces (for those that would like to). All materials will be provided by the Library (paper, pens, pencils). Sharing of new or old pieces is encouraged, but not required.
On Monday, October 23 from 5:00-6:00 pm the Algoma Public Library is hosting our annual Halloween Party. We will have a photo op area, games, crafts, Haunted House put on by the Girl Scouts Troop (Haunted House geared toward young children) and more. Come dressed up in your favorite Halloween Costume!

We ask that adults with no children refrain from attending. Starting Monday, October 2nd, 2023It's that time of year again! The Inktober Art Contest is back and asking for local artists of all ages to get their art on. Registrations and Submissions will be accepted starting October 2nd! Patrons can select an age group (Children's, Teens, Adults) that they would like to submit to at the time of registration. Rules and guidelines can be picked up at the Circulation Desk. Inktober Art Contest Submissions will be accepted from the time of registration till October 20th. The voting period will be the last full week of October (23rd to 28th). Join us to discuss your latest reads. We will be meeting at Off the Hook Bar-n-Grill (205 Navarino St, Algoma) on Thursday, October 19th at 5:30 pm. Calling all training Astronauts, NASA is running a training camp for kids 9 and up for an upcoming mission. We are gearing up for the upcoming Solar Eclipse on Saturday, October 14th. To be ready for this mission, trainees need to report for navigation of the solar system training, prechecks for our rocket and more!
