Tuesday, December 12th at 10:10 AM This special story time is for babies, toddlers and preschool age children. Older siblings are always welcome. Storytime is a chance to share books and songs with your little ones. It's a great opportunity for littles to learn a great deal about language before they ever say a word. That's why it is so important to read to your young children.
Tuesday, December 12th at 3 PM Library patrons of all ages are welcome to join us at the Algoma Public Library on Tuesday, December 12th between 3 and 4 PM to create your own painted ornaments.
All supplies will be provided by the Library. Friday, December 8th at 3 PM "" Join us at the Algoma Public Library between 3 PM and 4:30 PM on Friday, December 8th to make your own miniature books! We will have different options for book covers and supplies.
This program is open to all ages. Young children are encouraged to be accompanied by older family members.  Love Mazes? Love Candy Canes? With a partner, create a candy cane maze that will challenge other teams!
30 minutes will be given to design a maze with candy canes. Teams will then exchange mazes to move marbles through. Can your team create a challenging maze? Available Thursday, November 16th starting at 10 AM Board games and card games are fun for all ages. But, what goes into making a board game of your very own? Stop by the Library starting at 10 AM on Thursday, November 16th to pick up our "Make a Board Game" kit.
This kit is geared towards kids and families. Supplies will be limited and kits will be given out on a "first come, first served" basis. We'd love to challenge young creators, engineers, and artists to see what they can create with just their imagination, a couple tools, and heaps of cardboard.

Supplies are limited.  Come try out our Life Size Pac-Man game on Wednesday, November 8th from 1-4 pm be sure to bring a couple of friends. This is no arcade game but a maze you must get through without the ghosts get you! Maze will be open for people to go through.

It's November, and Turkeys are looking to go undercover so they don't become the main dish at Thanksgiving! You can help by disguising a turkey in any way you'd like! Pick up a paper turkey at the library desk, and dress it up as anything you'd like. Sports player? Hula dancer? Be as creative as you'd like. Please return your undercover turkey to the library by Nov. 15 so it can proudly display its disguise!
Monday, October 30th at 3 PM "" Most of us are familiar of the Frankenstein Monster: a creature made out of pieces of other things all put together. Come to the library on Monday, October 30th at 3 PM to make your own Franken-toy (a toy of your own made out of pieces of different toys put together).

The Inktober Art Contest is back and asking for local artists of all ages to get their art on. Registrations and Submissions will be accepted starting October 2nd! Patrons can select an age group (Children's, Teens, Adults) that they would like to submit to at the time of registration. Rules and guidelines can be picked up at the Circulation Desk. Inktober Art Contest Submissions will be accepted from the time of registration till October 20th. The voting period will be the last full week of October (23rd to 28th).  We will be painting/ carving pumpkins at the library again this year on Thursday, October 18th from 3-5 pm. Register for a time slot 3 pm and 4 pm. While supplies last. Each time slot will have a limited number of pumpkins to help with spacing. Call to reserve your spot.
Pumpkins donated from Hillside Apples in Casco.  Calling all training Astronauts, NASA is running a training camp for kids 9 and up for an upcoming mission. We are gearing up for the upcoming Solar Eclipse on Saturday, October 14th. To be ready for this mission, trainees need to report for navigation of the solar system training, prechecks for our rocket and more!

To celebrate, we are watching the new movie Elemental (2023) on Saturday, September 30th at 11 am. Elemental is set in Element City, where fire-, water-, land- and air residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.
