September is almost over and hopefully you got in your Elemental by getting a new library card or renewing your card. To celebrate, we are watching the new movie Elemental (2023) on Saturday, September 30th at 11 am. Elemental is set in Element City, where fire-, water-, land- and air residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.

All materials will be provided by the Library (paper, pens, pencils). Sharing of new or old pieces is encouraged, but not required.

Introducing our new Oculus Quest 2 (Virtual Reality) gaming device. Would you like to come and try out Virtual Reality for free? We are so excited to add this new gaming device to our library programming. Stop by and try it out Tuesday, September 12th between 1:15-5 pm.
To give everyone a chance to play time slots on the Oculus will be limited to 20 minutes per person. Learn the basic steps of how to use a computer, including how to use a mouse and keyboard and the basic parts of a computer. Have a laptop? Bring it with you for hands-on practice. Donations accepted August 1st to 22nd. Children need the proper tools to achieve success in school. Often these tools are as simple as paper, pencils or crayons. The Algoma Public Library is accepting school supply donations on behalf of the children and families in our community that are in need. Donated supplies can be dropped off at the Algoma Public Library.
Examples of Supplies Needed: Scissors, Loose leaf paper, Single subject notebooks, Elmer’s Glue, Pens, Pencils, Color pencils, Glue Sticks, Crayons, Markers, Folders, and Pink Erasers. These items will be available for our local teachers to pick up during the annual "Teacher Meet and Greet". This "Meet and Greet" gives teachers the opportunity to come in and connect with the Library, set up teacher cards and to talk to library staff about any material needs or questions they may have.
