Join TAG and help decide what happens at the library! This group meets on the FIRST MONDAY of each month from 4 pm-5pm in the library. We'll have snacks at each meeting & also work on a project to help the community! Each meeting will count as a volunteer hour, so if you're looking for hours to add to your resume come hang with us! Ever get caught up reading (and writing) fan-fictions for your favorite shows and movies? Do you find it easier to write down what you are thinking or feeling instead of trying to express it off the cuff, face-to-face? Join us every FIRST and THIRD Thursday, starting September 5th, from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM for our Teen Creative Writing Workshop. We will have writing prompts and activities for those looking for inspiration. All materials will be provided by the Library (prompts, paper, pens, pencils). After a long day of learning, come to the library to unwind with friends. Every SECOND and FOURTH Monday, starting September 9th, the Algoma Public Library will be hosting the Teen After School Games at 3:30 PM. We will have board games, card games, and, once in a while, video games. All games will be provided by the Library. Snacks will, on occasion, be provided. Disclaimer: Any games or devices brought to the event held by the library will not the responsibility of the library in the case of damage, theft, or loss of the item. UPDATE: We've extended our registration period! Potential participants now have until October 23rd to register and submit! Come in today to grab a registration! Inktober is a the time for artists, budding and professionals, to push themselves to create new and exciting pieces every day of October. As an added bit of inspiration, we, at the Algoma Public Library, are holding an art contest. To take part in this contest, all artists MUST have a registration form filled out and submitted. Any skill and aged artist may take part as the voting will be divided into three categories: Children, Teens, and Adults. Entries and Registrations to the art contest can be dropped off at the library anytime up to October 23th by 7:00 pm. Entries will be displayed and voted on at the Library. Prizes are a variety of art supplies, including an art supply kit and a Hobby Lobby Gift Card! |
