Kids- Pick up a mystery grab & go kit to create crazy, spooky Halloween creatures. Available Tuesday, October 26th while supplies last.
Stop by the library to pick up a kit to make a Fall Leaf Book Page Banner for your house. Kit includes string and book pages. All you need is to collect leaves to add to your banner! While supplies last.
The Inktober Art Contest Voting period starts October 25th. Votes can be cast in person at the library or via our website. Submissions must be brought to the library before October 24th to be eligible for the voting and prizes at the end.
We will be painting/ carving pumpkins at the library again this year. *New this year: register for a time slot 11 am, 12 pm and 2 pm. All participants MUST register, no exceptions, while supplies last. Each time slot will have a limited number of pumpkins to help with social distancing. Call to reserve your spot.

Stop by the library October 21-23 (or while supplies last) during regular library hours to get a free Science in a Bag STEM Kit courtesy of the Wisconsin Science Festival. Activities are appropriate for ages K-12 and feature science and research happening in the state of Wisconsin.
In addition, visit the science in a Bag portal (link coming soon!) for further instructions and bonus activities related to the Science in a Bag kits!
The great thing about Coding is that it doesn’t have to be online or electronic! This kit will give you and your family some activities that will work on logic, critical thinking, problem-solving, patience, fine motor skills and creativity. Kit includes 3 activities and instructions. Some additional supplies are needed. Limit 1 kit per family. *This particular kit is beginner to intermediate level.
Kids- Take one of these kits to make some fun fall themed puppets. Available Tuesday, October 12th while supplies last.

It's that time of year again!
The Inktober Art Contest is back and asking for local artists of all ages to get their art on. Registration and Submission opens October 4th! Patrons can select an age group (Childrens, Teens, Adults) that they would like to submit to at the time of registration. Patrons will not be able to submit art works if they do not register.
Inktober Art Contest Submissions will be accepted from the time of registration till October 22nd. Submissions will not be accepted after October 23rd.
Who is the friendliest ghost around? Casper is! And we get to experience watching him on the on the big screen in a fun interactive way! So don't be scared, grab a friend and head on over to the library and watch with us!
Calling all Algoma and Kewaunee Library Patrons! Our libraries are hosting a PENNY WAR to raise money for a local organization - Violence Intervention Project here in Kewaunee County. We are having this fun month-long competition to see which library and it's patrons can raise the most money. The prize? BRAGGING RIGHTS! To participate, stop in your library branch to contribute to our PENNY WAR jar. Ends September 30th!
As a library, we want to continuously give back to our community whether it is having fun in a competition like this or attending programs we have each month for our patrons. Libraries are a place of empowerment. A place where people can come in to utilize our library for our public computers, access media resources, get technology help and so much more. Children need the proper tools to achieve success in school. Often these tools are as simple as paper, pencils or crayons. The Algoma Public Library in partnership with the Optimist Club of Algoma are accepting school supply donations on behalf of the children and families in our community that are in need. Donated supplies can be dropped off at the Algoma Public Library.
Examples of Supplies Needed: Scissors, Loose leaf paper, Single subject notebooks, Elmer’s Glue, Pens, Pencils, Color pencils, Glue Sticks, Crayons, Markers, Folders, and Pink Erasers These items will be available for our local teachers to pick up during the annual Teacher Meet and Greet. This Meet and Greet gives teachers the opportunity to come in and connect with the Public Library, set up teacher cards and to talk to library staff on any material needs and or any questions they may have.
Join us for Story Walk on the Boardwalk! Read and enjoy while you walk on the beach. The story, "A Day at the Beach," by Tom Booth will be up from August 9 - 23rd at Algoma's Crescent Beach Boardwalk.
The 6th Annual Outdoor Movie will be...Raya and the Last Dragon! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and snacks and join us for a fun family friendly evening at the Movies!
