A kit for the Birds! How well do you know the birds around your neighborhood? This kit includes a craft, activities and book recommendations for all ages. Co-sponsored by Bird City Algoma.
Which cover cover was better? Each week we will we have a line up of books. Starting with 16 different titles and at the end of March we will have a chance to chose which book / movie combo had the better cover. Titles of books may be Young Adult, Children's or Adults. The Winner is all up to you. Be sure to vote each week before next line up comes up!
Teens, the Algoma Public Library would like your help.
We will be holding Virtual Teen Advisory Group meetings through Google Meet where local teens can come and brainstorm with our Young Adult Librarian for future grab-n-go kits, virtual programming, and our upcoming Summer Reading Program.
Any teens that sign up, attend, and contribute to the discussion and brainstorming will be able to claim ONE HOUR of volunteer time. Sign Up is REQUIRED.

Among Us is a popular app that's free to download or $5.00 on Steam. Sign up for Among Us Night to get invited to a private Zoom call where players can talk to each other while trying to figure out who is the Imposter!
This program is geared towards Teens as the game has very mild violence.

Katie is not a professional but has over 15 years using Microsoft Word for personal and business purposes. Have you ever wondered about those decorative diamonds or squares on barns? Maybe wanted one for your very own? Well now is your chance to make your own! Kit includes information on Barn Quilts, wood, and instructions. Some supplies are required by the participant (such as paint). Kits are first come, first served and will not be held.

Pick up a Stuffed Animal Sleepover grab & go kit to prepare your child for our Virtual Storytime on Zoom starting Thursday, March 11th (available while supplies last). The kit will include a book for your child to customize, a craft, a snack, and an invitation to attend our Zoom party on Wednesday, March 17th.

Ever wonder if you could knit with something other than knitting needles? You can! Try your hand at making dishcloths with a pair of pencils and a skein of yarn. Kit also includes instructions for 2 patterns from Librarian Katie's grandmother. This is a different pattern. While supplies last.

We just finished our Winter Reading Challenge, but let's keep our reading motivation going. Pick up our March into Reading kit for fun reading crafts for all ages and reader advisory recommendations for picture book readers to Adults. Four crafts and four material recommendations inside.

Join us for a community read by keeping track of your minutes you read for the month of February. Can we, as a community, read 10,500 minutes or 177 hours together? We know we can! It is open to families and individuals of all ages. Or request a paper log sheet. Challenge runs February 1st to 28th.
Take a walk through downtown Algoma and read a fun winter picture book. Pictures are displayed in Algoma businesses windows. Starting Monday, February 15th and runs through Friday, February 27th.
