In celebration of Global Shorebird Day, we're excited to offer a special Shorebird Awareness Kit. This kit includes educational materials to help you learn more about the importance of shorebirds and their habitats. Additionally, we've included a fun and meaningful craft activity where you can create bird-protecting window decals to help prevent bird collisions with windows.

Thursday, September 12th, 3pm-6pm: STEAM Challenge - Migratory Bird Edition:
Our first STEAM project of the year! Use your engineering and creative skills to build a one-of-a-kind bird feeder that will help fuel migratory birds as they pass through our area and journey south. Participants can also complete a library scavenger hunt that will show them how to identify birds they may see locally and instruction on how to keep track of the birds they observe. All ages welcome, under 9 must be accompanied by a caregiver. Families are encourage to attend together. All supplies provided.

John, an expert birder and professional wildlife photographer, will share his insights on spotting and identifying birds during this vibrant season. Tom, an avid Merlin and eBird user, will demonstrate how to use these powerful apps to enhance your birdwatching experience. Whether you're a seasoned birder or just starting, this program will equip you with valuable tips and tools. A Q&A session will follow, so bring your questions!
