 Come play on our Nintendo Switch with us on Wednesday, November 27th from 1 to 3 pm. We will have a couple of different games available to play. Bring a friend or two for a friendly competition.
 On the third Wednesday of every month from 3 PM to 5 PM, the Algoma Public Library invites our patrons to step into Virtual Reality. Our two headsets, made possible by the Friends of the Library, will be set up in our meeting room space for patrons to enjoy.
Sign-ups are required as each patron will be given a 15 minute turn. (Amount of time for each patron is subject to change depending on attendance.)  Come join us for our annual Halloween Party from 5:00-6:00 pm on Monday, October 28th. We will have a photo op area, games, crafts, Haunted House put on by the Girl Scouts (Haunted House Geared toward young children) and more. Come dressed up in your favorite Halloween Costume!

Rain date: Monday, August 12th from 12 to 1. Friday, July 5th at 1 PM Pipe cleaners are a versatile and underused crafting supply that sometimes get lost in art drawers.
Patrons are welcome to stop by the library between 1 PM and 2:30 PM to try different pipe cleaner crafts. Instructions will be available for multiple projects. All ages welcome.  Kids are invited to paint of the Northern Lights and we will have some glow in the dark paints too on Monday, July 1st from 1 to 3 pm. This program is geared for kids 6 and up. If the child is under 8 years old a parent must be with them in the Library. Registration Required.
 Come to the library and make your very own garden stone on Thursday, June 27th from 1 - 2:30 pm. It will be a fun DIY. You might get a little messy, so dress appropriately! Bring your own decorations (gem stones, colored rocks, sea shells, beach glass, pottery pieces) library has limited supplies. Call or stop in the library today to sign up!

In partnership with the Friends of Crescent Beach, we will be encouraging patrons to get out and have fun while protecting our great lakes with Beach Clean Bingo. Patrons can pick up a bingo sheet and a paper bag at the circulation desk. As patrons stay at the beach, they can fill out their Bingo card by finding various pieces of trash. Trash can be returned to the library in the paper bag with their completed Bingo card to be entered to win a prize curtesy of the Friends of Crescent Beach.

Monday, May 13th is Scrabble Day! Come with a friend and play a game or two. Who can score the most points with their words? Playing word games like Scrabble help improve vocabulary, help with concentration and allows players to have fun at the same time. Scrabble was invented by Alfred Mosher Butts in 1938. We will have several boards set up by our circulation desk from 12 - 4 pm.
