 On the third Wednesday of every month from 3 PM to 5 PM, the Algoma Public Library invites our patrons to step into Virtual Reality. Our two headsets, made possible by the Friends of the Library, will be set up in our meeting room space for patrons to enjoy.
Sign-ups are required as each patron will be given a 15 minute turn. (Amount of time for each patron is subject to change depending on attendance.)

 Come play Mario Switch Games with us! We will have our Switch out for Kids, Teens and even Adults to have some fun on Wednesday, September 11th from 3 to 5 pm.
*Players will take turns to give all participants a chance to play*  Donations accepted August 1st to 23rd. Children need the proper tools to achieve success in school. Often these tools are as simple as paper, pencils, or crayons. The Algoma Public Library is accepting school supply donations on behalf of the children and families in our community that are in need. Donated supplies can be dropped off at the Algoma Public Library. Examples of Supplies Needed: Scissors, Loose leaf paper, Single subject notebooks, Elmer’s Glue, Pens, Pencils, Color pencils, Glue Sticks, Crayons, Markers, Folders, small storage bins, Kleenex, hand sanitizer and Pink Erasers. These items will be available for our local teachers to pick up during the annual “Teacher Meet and Greet”. This “Meet and Greet” gives teachers the opportunity to come in and connect with the Library, set up teacher cards and to talk to library staff about any material needs or questions they may have.

Tuesday, July 9th at 1 PM Can you afford college? Learn ways to pay for college and how to read your credit report. Renee Koenig from UW-Madison Extension will teach this session with games and helpful tools on July 9th at 1 PM.
Friday, July 5th at 1 PM Pipe cleaners are a versatile and underused crafting supply that sometimes get lost in art drawers.
Patrons are welcome to stop by the library between 1 PM and 2:30 PM to try different pipe cleaner crafts. Instructions will be available for multiple projects. All ages welcome.  Come to the library and make your very own garden stone on Thursday, June 27th from 1 - 2:30 pm. It will be a fun DIY. You might get a little messy, so dress appropriately! Bring your own decorations (gem stones, colored rocks, sea shells, beach glass, pottery pieces) library has limited supplies. Call or stop in the library today to sign up!
In case of rain we will be having it on Friday, June 28th from 1-2:30 pm  Did you know you can grow edible mushrooms in container or even a plastic bag? Now is your chance to grow your own Oyster Mushrooms in a cup. This take home kit includes oyster mushroom grain spawn, a substrate and instructions for you to make your kit at home. Supplies are limited for the kit, but instructions can be pickup upon request on Monday, June 24th at 10 am. This kit is geared for adults.
Please 1 kit per household. Wednesday, June 19th from 11 AM to 1 PM Whether you’re a toddler, teenager, or adult… Bluey is a show that has found its way into the homes and hearts of many.

In partnership with the Friends of Crescent Beach, we will be encouraging patrons to get out and have fun while protecting our great lakes with Beach Clean Bingo. Patrons can pick up a bingo sheet and a paper bag at the circulation desk. As patrons stay at the beach, they can fill out their Bingo card by finding various pieces of trash. Trash can be returned to the library in the paper bag with their completed Bingo card to be entered to win a prize curtesy of the Friends of Crescent Beach.
