 Stop by the library October 15-24, 2026 (or while supplies last) during regular library hours to get a free Science in a Bag STEM Kit courtesy of the Wisconsin Science Festival. Activities are appropriate for ages K-12 and feature science and research happening in the state of Wisconsin. In addition, visit the science in a Bag portal for further instructions and bonus activities related to the Science in a Bag.

Author David Benjamin, a resident of Wisconsin and Paris, France, has written over 20 books with his latest his memoir, An Apartment in Paris. Join us as we learn about David's history, his books, and his time spent between Wisconsin and France. David will be having a raffle with one lucky winner winning 4 of his titles.
 Quilting with Niki is back with another fun project that is quick and easy Halloween table runner with some easy applique to spice it up! We will be working on this cute table runner on Saturday, October 10th, 2026 from 10 am to 2 pm.
$10 pre-cut kit will be available or pick up the cutting list when you sign up. Sign up is required as we have limited seating / pre-cut kits available. *Please note that you will need to provide your own fusible for appliques if desired. Fabrics and appliques will differ from what is shown.  Want to jam with friends? Join us on 2nd Friday of the Month from 3 to 5 pm - this month it is on Friday, October 9th, 2026. This is a time to practice and Jam with other local musicians without amps or plugging in instruments. Open to teens and adults, space is limited.

Through a partnership with United Way of Wisconsin, we are hosting a no-cost laptop distribution event for eligible community members. Tuesday, October 6 | 3:30–6:30pm Algoma Public Library, 406 Fremont Street Open to Wisconsin residents age 13+ who do not currently own a laptop, computer, or tablet, have not previously received a device through this program, and meet the eligibility requirements. We strickly read romance books and share why we love them. There is no one book for the club. Instead we read by SUBGENRE within Romance.
