On the third Wednesday of every month from 3 PM to 5 PM, the Algoma Public Library invites our patrons to step into Virtual Reality. This month we are playing on Wednesday, April 16th, 2025 from 3 to 5 pm. Our two headsets, made possible by the Friends of the Library, will be set up in our meeting room space for patrons to enjoy.
Sign-ups are required as each patron will be given a 15 minute turn. (Amount of time for each patron is subject to change depending on attendance.) Join us on Tuesday, April 15th at 1 pm. We are reading
"Funny Story" by Emily Henry. Books are available in regular print, large print, audiobook on CD, and Libby (eAudiobook and ebook). You can also put a copy on hold on infosoup. Celebrate the week before Easter at the Algoma Public Library during Peeps Palooza Week! On Monday, April 14th, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM, we will have a Peeps House Decorating Contest. On Thursday, April 17th, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM, join us for a Peeps Taste Testing Challenge. Stop by anytime throughout the week to participate in the Peeps scavenger hunt and create your own Peeps portrait to add to the library wall!
Join the Algoma Public Library for Part 2 of our Chinese Brush Painting series on Saturday, April 12, from 12:00 to 1:30 PM, featuring cherry blossom demonstrations! As always, participants are welcome to paint whatever inspires them in this relaxed, all-skill-level session.
Want to jam with friends? Join us on Friday, April 11th, 2025 from 3:30 to 5 pm. This is a time to practice and Jam with other local musicians without amps or plugging in instruments. Open to teens and adults, space is limited.

How to Participate:
Everyone is welcome to participate—young and old alike! Come learn with Anna on Saturday, April 5th, 2025 at 11 am, as she takes you through the basics of bookbinding allowing you to make your own notebook! Registration is required. Please call or stop in by Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 to ensure we have enough materials.
All supplies will be provided, but if you'd like to use your own fabric / material cover you can bring it. *Note: if bringing your own fabric it needs to be Quilting Cotton and no smaller than 8 inches by 11 inches. Come to the Algoma Public Library every two weeks on Friday at 3:00 PM for our After School Movie. Movies selected will be rated PG-13 or younger. Today's Movie is: Movie: The Dog Who Saved Easter Rating: PG Runtime: 86 minutes Our After School Movie program is geared towards children and tweens along with their caregivers. We ask that adults with no children refrain from attending.
