Summer Library reading Incentive

for KIDS!

· Pick up Reading Incentive Sheets in

   the library

       New Permanent Art @ the Library

The next time you are in the library, take a moment to view two new art pieces. These pieces began as discarded school chairs, and have evolved into quite wonderful reading chairs.

The chairs were created as part of the Summer Library Program, with Chris Steinhagen  hatching the idea and summer library program participants assisting in building the framework from cardboard, wire, duct tape and a lot of paper mache.  Chris then painted the chairs, using images created through the 2011 Collaborative Summer Library Program.

What now looks like a giraffe and an elephant are reading chairs, which will be used during our Baby Storytime, Story Hour, and special reading times throughout the year.
